NeurOptimal Clinic MD
NeurOptimal® is an advanced neurotechnology designed to train the brain to function at peak performance levels. This innovative form of neurofeedback is not a medical treatment, but rather a training for the brain.
It doesn’t matter what your starting point is — EVERY brain can benefit and tap into its own unique optimal state.
Regular brain training with NeurOptimal® can help with sleep management and can help promote healthy sleep habits. Many NeurOptimal® users have reported improvements in their sleep routine after brain training, and this positively affects many aspects of day-to-day life, including mood, mindset, focus, concentration, productivity, and confidence.
What to Expect
What Happens in a Session?
- A certified NeurOptimal trainer will ensure that you are comfortably placed, ask you to fill out a survey listing the complaints and/or challenges in a quiet space.
- Once you have filled out the questionnaire, the trainer will attach special sensors to your head, which will send brain wave patterns into the NeurOptimal program’s software.
- Do not fret because the session will be relaxing, enjoyable and last about 30 minutes. Once the session starts, the music will be played through headphones and you can watch geometric images gently morph across a computer screen. When brain activity shows signs of unrest, you will hear occasional “skips” or interruptions in the music. This cue alerts your brain to “reset” and function smoothly.
- At the end of the session, you will feel relaxed and less stressed out. You will not experience any side effects as NeurOptimal does not artificially “push” the brain in any particular direction. In fact, many users have said that, in their very first session, they are able to sleep better and get vivid dreams. So, if you have trouble relaxing after work, cannot fall asleep within 15 minutes, are struggling to carry out a specific task during the day, the training sessions will solve these problems.
Both grownups and children can try NeurOptimal neurofeedback to address their problems like depression, anxiety, PTSD, Alzheimer, sleep disorders, Misophonia (neurological disorder where anger, hatred occurs due to specific sounds) and other problems.
Why Should I Use Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback training provides a multitude of benefits for the brain and body, including: improved sleep, heightened mental clarity and enhanced cognitive performance.
Trainers and clients -millions and growing- have used the NeurOptimal system to address a number of physical, emotional, and cognitive complaints with great success. These fall into a few general categories:
1. TREATS ADHD
Neurofeedback is clinically shown to help 80% of all attention deficit disorders. The American Pediatric Academy (APA) in November 2012 certified neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) as a “Level 1/Best Support” treatment for children suffering from ADHD. Also, the APA has associated neurofeedback with medication in terms of efficacy for resolving ADHD.
2. GET OVER A TRAUMA
Neurofeedback treats those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
3. INSOMNIA MAY BLUNT THE PERCEPTION OF FACIAL EMOTIONS
Chronic insomnia is associated with reduced ratings of emotion intensity for facial expressions, according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Patients with insomnia rated expressions, displaying sadness and fear as significantly less emotionally intense than healthy good sleepers. Neurofeedback can treat Insomnia.
4. POOR SLEEP QUALITY LINKED TO COGNITIVE DECLINE IN OLDER MEN
A new study of older men found a link between poor sleep quality and the development of cognitive decline over three to four years. Results show that higher levels of fragmented sleep and lower sleep efficiency were associated with a 40 to 50 per cent increase in the odds of clinically significant decline in executive function, which was similar in magnitude to the effect of a five-year increase in age. In contrast, sleep duration was not related to subsequent cognitive decline. Neurofeedback sessions can improve sleep pattern.
5. SLOWS DOWN BRAIN AGING
In addition to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, NeurOptimal neurofeedback can slow down and reverse cognitive, emotional, and physical challenges, especially after 40. NeurOptimal keeps the brain fit and resilient, thus improving memory, and increasing overall cognitive agility in older people.
6. ENHANCE PHYSICAL/ MENTAL PERFORMANCE
Many Olympic and professional athletes now use neurofeedback to provide that elusive mental edge which often results in victory. When performances of athletes are separated by 100ths or 1000ths of a second, an improved mental focus and physical performance will provide that winning edge. Remember, one need not be an athlete to enjoy the benefits of neurofeedback. If you want to be a better pitcher on a company softball team or improve your golf, then opt for NeurOptimal.
